Ukraine’s Ambassador to Türkiye Vasyl Bodnar said that the weapons planned to be given to Ukraine were sent to Israel.
Israel’s war on Gaza has affected arms aid by Western countries to Ukraine and perceptions on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Türkiye Vasyl Bodnar said, according to Anadolu news agency.
“International media has turned its attention to this direction, so there are those who think that the war in Ukraine has ended,” Bodnar reportedly added.
Meeting with Turkish journalists at the Ukrainian Embassy in Ankara, Bodnar said that the weapons planned to be given to Ukraine were sent to Israel, according to Anadolu.
Bodan also reportedly cited the upcoming presidential election in the US, the attitude of the governments of Hungary and Slovakia, and the blockades imposed by farmers on Ukrainian trucks at the border gates in Poland among these dynamics.
On December 29, the United States announced the approval of a $147.5 million sale of 155mm high-explosive artillery munitions and related equipment to Israel under an emergency provision that bypassed the congressional review.

The same provision was used earlier in December to approve the sale of nearly 14,000 rounds of 120mm tank ammunition to Israel.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement that Israel had requested that 155mm fuses, primers, and charges be added to previous foreign military sale cases, increasing their estimated total cost from $96.51 million to $147.5 million and requiring a new notification.
