Representative of Hamas movement in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, affirmed to Al Mayadeen that the movement is always concerned with reaching a formula or deal to end the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Abdel Hadi emphasized that Hamas is not responsible for the failure of negotiations, affirming the seriousness and flexibility of the movement in negotiations, contrasting with the evasion of the occupation government’s prime minister and his overturning of proposed ideas, which previously led negotiations into a futile loop.

Abdel Hadi explained that the movement “awaits a response to its response to American ideas, as there has been no response from the occupation so far,” stressing that it “does not deal with what is rumored in the media, and waits for any new ideas to be officially presented by the mediators.”

Word manipulation as a tool of psychological warfare

The Hamas representative in Lebanon pointed out that the remarks of the deputy head of the movement in the Gaza Strip, and a member of its political bureau, Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, regarding the state on the 1967 borders, were deliberately twisted to carry a different implication, recalling that the movement “cannot accept recognition of the Israeli enemy or its right to any part of the land of Palestine” or “cede an inch of Palestinian land from Um al-Rashrash to Ras al-Naqoura.”

While Abdel Hadi indicated that dealing with the issue of establishing the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders can be temporary and “not at the expense of the main path of liberating all our land,” he emphasized that al-Hayya’s statements regarding the establishment of the Palestinian state and the transition to a political party were distorted to put them in a different context.

Abdel Hadi affirmed that the movement does not deal with media leaks because a significant portion of them comes within the context of psychological warfare and pressure on the Resistance’s leadership amidst the ongoing negotiations.

He announced that the movement’s vision for stopping the aggression is clear and summarized in the four points that every deal must include, from a permanent ceasefire to achieving the complete withdrawal of the occupation, to the return of refugees, to the removal of the effects of aggression through relief, reconstruction, and shelter.

Hamas vis-a-vis ‘Israel’ and the world

Abdel Hadi also highlighted the interest of the internal Israeli scene in the appearance of Yahya Sinwar in Gaza, confirming that there are important messages that have preoccupied the internal Israeli scene, especially the families of captives, exerting pressure on the occupation government.

He affirmed that the Resistance will respond to any aggression on Rafah, as it has done everywhere in the Gaza Strip, and will deal with it very seriously, warning that prolonging the duration of the war and committing more massacres could lead to reactions that may escalate to impact the entire region.

Moreover, Abdel Hadi noted the continuous communication between Hamas and both Russia and China on multiple levels since the beginning of Operation Al Aqsa Flood, emphasizing that the movement is very interested in developing relations with China and benefiting from its supportive stance to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people, in contrast to the American and Western role that supports the occupation without limitation.
