A group of Jewish settlers installed mobile homes (caravans) on Palestinian land in the village of Bireen, southeast of al-Khalil in the southern West Bank.

Farid Barqan, head of the Bireen village council, said that settlers set up the caravans with the aim of expanding the “Mitzpe Ziv” outpost at the expense of residents’ land and property.

Settlers in the occupied West Bank have carried out 443 attacks in a month since the outbreak of the Iran war, taking advantage of the situation to intensify their assaults on Palestinian villages and communities.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in a report issued on Saturday, these attacks included direct gunfire, the burning of homes and property, and the imposition of new facts on the ground as part of efforts to alter the geographic and demographic reality in the West Bank.

The report indicated that the attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Nablus (108 attacks), al-Khalil (99), Ramallah (76), Bethlehem (32), Occupied Jerusalem (24), and Salfit (23), in addition to Jericho and Qalqilya.

It added that the wave of attacks led to the forced displacement of six Bedouin communities, affecting 58 families comprising 256 individuals, including 79 women and 166 children, as a result of settler violence and threats.
