Death toll from Israeli assault on Lebanon rises to 1,318 victims

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that the number of victims from the ongoing Israeli assault on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 1,318 killed and 3,935 injured, amid escalating military operations and a widening scope of confrontations.

In its daily report, the ministry said that Israeli airstrikes over the past 24 hours alone killed 50 people and injured 185 others, reflecting the sustained intensity of attacks targeting multiple areas.

On the ground, Hezbollah reported carrying out attacks using artillery shells and drones, targeting Israeli army gatherings and military positions in several locations, including Al-Qawzah and Al-Qantara, as part of its ongoing response to Israeli strikes.

This escalation comes as the conflict expands regionally, with the repercussions of the war involving Iran spilling into Lebanon. Hezbollah announced launching rockets toward Israel in response to the killing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, as well as continued Israeli attacks despite a ceasefire agreement reached between the two sides in November 2024.

In recent weeks, the Lebanese front has witnessed a rapid escalation, raising concerns over worsening humanitarian and security conditions as exchanges of fire continue and the number of casualties rises.
