The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza said the number of journalists martyred since the start of the Israeli genocide in the Strip has risen to 262, following the death of another reporter.
In a statement on Wednesday, GMO announced that journalist Mohammad Sameer Washah, a correspondent for Al-Jazeera Mubasher, was martyred in an Israeli attack.
GMO strongly condemned what it called the systematic targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists, urging the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and media organizations worldwide to denounce these actions.
It held Israel, along with the US administration and allied countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for the killing of journalists in Gaza.
The GMO also called on the international community and relevant organizations to take action to hold those responsible accountable in international courts and to apply effective pressure to stop the genocide and protect journalists in the Strip.
