Hezbollah’s secretary‑general, Naim Qassem, has affirmed that the Lebanese resistance remains strong and undefeatable, adding that the Israeli enemy is surprised by the resistance fighters’ resilience and determination.
In a statement on Monday, Qassem criticized the Lebanese authorities for rushing to offer unnecessary concessions, stressing Hezbollah categorically rejects any direct negotiations with the Israeli occupation regime.
Qassem urged the Lebanese authorities to shift towards an indirect negotiation path.
“We will not abandon our weapons… and the battlefield has proven our readiness for confrontation,” he said, stressing that a ceasefire would not have been achieved without Iran’s position in the Pakistan talks.
“The Israeli enemy will not remain on a single inch of our occupied land, and our people will return to their areas,” he said.
On Sunday, Hezbollah said that its fighters had attacked Israeli forces inside Lebanon, and that rescue units were deployed to evacuate them.
Afterwards, the Israeli occupation army announced that one soldier had been killed and six others wounded, including an officer and three soldiers with serious injuries, during skirmishes in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army also reported intercepting three drones before they could cross into Israel, but sirens were sounded warning of an aerial attack on the north.
This came after the Israeli army issued a warning to Lebanese citizens to evacuate seven towns north of the Litani River, beyond the “buffer zone” in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah maintains that its strikes on Israeli military positions in occupied Lebanese territory and its shelling of settlements in northern Israel constitute a “legitimate response to Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations, including the destruction of homes, attacks on civilians, and the continued occupation of Lebanese land.”
