The Israeli forces intensified their presence in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem on Thursday evening and overnight into Friday, deploying both foot and vehicle patrols throughout the city’s eastern and southern neighborhoods. The operations included the firing of stun grenades and tear gas toward residents.
As part of the raids, Israeli forces stormed two local homes in the southern neighborhood, carrying out extensive searches and subjecting residents to on-site interrogations, though no arrests were reported.
The incursions also extended to the town of Anabta, east of the city, where several young men were detained inside a café, questioned in the field, and later released.
These developments come amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Tulkarem and its refugee camps, which have now entered their 459th consecutive day, under a tightened siege and repeated raids targeting the city and surrounding towns.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian young man was shot and wounded by Israeli forces on Thursday evening near the separation wall in the town of al-Ram, north of Occupied Jerusalem.
In a brief statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews in Ramallah treated a young man who had been shot with live ammunition in both legs near the separation wall at al-Ram. He received first aid at the scene before being transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
Areas surrounding the separation wall and military checkpoints leading into Occupied Jerusalem and Israel have witnessed near-daily injuries during attempts by Palestinian workers to reach their workplaces.
According to figures released by the General Federation of Palestinian Workers, more than 44 Palestinian workers have been killed by Israeli army fire, while over 34,000 others have been arrested at their workplaces or while attempting to secure employment since the start of the war.
