Israeli forces demolish home in al-Khalil as settlers attack farmers near Ramallah

Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian home on Monday in the village of al-Deirat, east of Yatta in southern al-Khalil, as settler violence escalated in other parts of the West Bank.

Local sources said large Israeli forces, accompanied by heavy machinery, stormed the village and imposed a military cordon before demolishing an inhabited house on the pretext of lacking a construction permit in Area C.

The demolition comes amid an intensifying campaign targeting Masafer Yatta and surrounding areas, widely seen as part of efforts to expand settlements and forcibly displace Palestinian residents.

In a separate incident, settlers attacked Palestinian farmers in the town of Turmus Ayya, east of Ramallah, forcing them off their land.

According to local reports, settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, assaulted farmers while they were ploughing agricultural land in the plains of Turmus Ayya, compelling them to leave the area.

Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that escalating armed settler violence has led to the displacement of at least 79 Palestinian Bedouin communities, either partially or entirely.

These communities include 814 families and more than 4,700 individuals, marking one of the largest waves of forced displacement in a short period.

The incidents highlight a growing pattern of coordinated actions involving both settlers and Israeli forces, targeting Palestinian homes, land, and livelihoods across the West Bank.
