The Hamas Movement on Tuesday called on mediators guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip to take urgent action to stop Israeli violations and attacks in the territory.
In a press statement, the Movement said the ongoing “barbaric Zionist bombardment” carried out by the “criminal enemy army” across Gaza, including a horrific strike Tuesday afternoon targeting a police station northwest of Gaza City, which killed a passing child and injured several police officers, represents a systematic criminal escalation.
Hamas added that the Israeli bombardment is a “bloody declaration” of the continued killing and aggression against the Palestinian people, aimed at spreading chaos and insecurity and preventing any recovery efforts that conflict with what it described as Israeli plans to displace Palestinians.
The Movement said mediators and the United Nations bear direct responsibility for pressuring the government of the “war criminal Netanyahu” to halt the offensive and prevent it from evading its obligations under the ceasefire agreement, which Hamas said Israel has failed to uphold through continued bombardment, blockade, and starvation policies.
Hamas also called on “free people around the world” to intensify pressure campaigns against Israel and its supporters to stop what it described as the daily killings faced by Palestinians in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
