A horde of extremist Jewish settlers established a new outpost on swaths of Palestinian-owned land in the town of Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources reported that settlers placed two mobile homes on swaths of land belonging to the Islamic Awqaf authorities in the al-Maghsala area of Deir Istiya.
They added that the settlers bulldozed plots of land and piped water from the illegal Revava settlement across Palestinian olive groves to the outpost.
The sources described the establishment of this outpost as a “serious escalation in settler attacks on Palestinian lands and property.”
On Friday, settlers demolished the Palestinian hamlet of Ezbet al-Eyoun west of Wadi Qana, northwest of Salfit, after forcing its residents to leave.
In a separate incident, settlers attacked the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, on Saturday evening, provoking clashes with residents.
Local sources said that Israeli forces stormed the village to provide protection for the settlers during their attack and kidnaped two Palestinian citizens.
In al-Khalil, dozens of Palestinians suffered from their exposure to tear gas after Israeli forces stormed the town of Beit Ummar.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces raided the “Balqis” wedding venue in the town of Dawha, west of the city, and cordoned off the area around it for no known reason.
