The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, affirmed that “the criminal aggression of the Zionist occupation and its settlers, through their incursions and flag marches in Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, are futile attempts to alter the identity of our sacred land, which will remain Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic no matter how far the occupation goes in its brutality and Judaization schemes.”
In a statement on Thursday, Hamas said, “The terrorist occupation, no matter how much it escalates its measures, incursions, and restrictions on Jerusalemites and those stationed in defense (of the holy site), will not succeed in stripping Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa of their place and symbolism in the hearts of our people, nor in weakening their steadfastness and determination to defend their sanctities. On the contrary, it will only increase their resolve to confront and endure; for Al-Aqsa is creed and belonging, a history deeply rooted in the conscience of our people and our Arab and Islamic Ummah.”
The Movement stressed that resistance will remain faithful to its pledge to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, safeguard the people, land, and sanctities, and “keep the compass pointed toward liberation and freedom from occupation, no matter the sacrifices, no matter the intensity of aggression or the magnitude of Zionist plots and conspiracies.”
Hamas urged the Arab and Islamic Ummah, both governments and peoples, to shoulder its historic and religious responsibilities toward Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, calling on them to “exert every effort to stop this ongoing aggression, foil the occupation’s schemes, and pressure it by all means and at every level.”
Palestinian warnings are mounting regarding Israeli plans described as the most dangerous since the occupation of Jerusalem, coinciding with the so called 59th Hebrew anniversary of the city’s occupation. Indicators point to the occupation government and Temple organizations seeking to impose new realities inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, including Friday incursions for the first time since 1967, and expanding temporal and spatial control over the Mosque.
In an urgent appeal, the Al Quds International Foundation warned that Thursday and Friday, May 14–15, 2026, may witness unprecedented escalation against Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing it as an attempt by Israel to exploit the atmosphere of war and ongoing aggression to impose historic changes inside the Mosque.
