Settlers cut down trees, IOF orders halt to home construction in W. Bank

WEST BANK, (PIC)

Extremist Jewish settlers cut down dozens of fruit-bearing trees in Salfit on Sunday, while the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) delivered stop-work orders against 10 homes in Bethlehem.

In Salfit, settlers cut down about 150 fruit-bearing trees in Yasuf village, east of the governorate.

Local sources reported that the destroyed trees included olive, almond, peach, and grape, belonging to three citizens Atallah Yassin, Anwar Ayyoub, and Wafa Yassin.

The sources confirmed that this attack comes amid escalating settler attacks on citizens’ lands and homes in Salfit Governorate, particularly in areas adjacent to settlements and outposts.

In a separate incident, the IOF delivered stop-work orders against 10 Palestinian homes, some inhabited, in the town of Battir west of Bethlehem as a prelude to demolishing them later.
