Member of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement’s Political Bureau Ali al-Qahoum revealed that the seemingly official document claiming that the movement refuses to open blocked roads to the cities of Taiz, Marib, and al-Dhale is actually forged.

Al-Qahoum stressed the movement’s position on the matter, explaining that its leadership is “in favor” of opening all roads to and from the aforementioned cities, including means of commute to and from other Yemeni cities and towns.

He emphasized that the Ansar Allah movement would take such initiatives if paired with “guaranteed mechanisms that [protect the lives of Yemeni] citizens,” which would be accompanied by “clear and signed commitments” from the concerned parties. Al-Qahoum said that such a step would also necessitate the formation of “field committees” that oversee the “implementation and facilitation of the process of opening [commute routes].”

He drew attention to the fact that this statement is forged and untrue, emphasizing that it did not come from the political bureau of Ansar Allah and describing it as a “false statement prepared in [intelligence-affiliated] media kitchens.”

Al-Qahoum welcomed all humanitarian initiatives that seek to ease the burden of the Yemeni people, expressing that such actions should be followed up with a broader framework that would accomplish several other humanitarian goals

He pointed out that “opening roads is a humanitarian and national position that is not satisfied with mere announcements of opening roads for the sake of political manipulation, procrastination, or political bidding.”
