Israeli media reports on the growing frustration of officials in the North toward Israeli officials and decisionmakers due to unfulfilled promises made to them.

Israeli media reported on Friday that local authorities in the northern region are growing increasingly impatient, expressing frustration that “the promises that were made were written on ice.”
According to Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, settlers who were displaced from the North are still significantly distant from their original settlements, and have been awaiting a response from decision-makers for five months.
The newspaper further reported that the heads of the evacuated settlements in the North are scheduled to convene on Sunday, following a prolonged period of uncertainty, frustration, and apprehension regarding their future.
The head of the “Shlomi” Council was quoted as saying, “We must go to Jerusalem and demand answers because we feel that we have been abandoned and that the government is ignoring us.”
According to the newspaper, Moshe Davidovich, Head of the “Mateh Asher” Regional Council and leader of the Front Line Forum, expressed frustration, stating, “The promises made to us seem to have been written on ice, and the state persists in creating obstacles for business owners, farmers, and settlers who are left feeling abandoned and uncertain amid ongoing conflict as if there were no war.”
The newspaper emphasized that in recent months, “the North has been engulfed in relentless conflict,” with frequent launches of rockets, anti-tank shells, mortar shells, and suicide drones from Lebanon. Consequently, the area, now resembling an “Israeli security belt,” remains largely deserted, underscoring the prevailing threat and instability in the region.
Resistance operations in Lebanon
The newspaper recalled recent Resistance operations in Lebanon, specifically mentioning, “Just yesterday afternoon, Thursday, Hezbollah launched two anti-tank missiles targeting residential buildings in Metulla.” Furthermore, as reported by the newspaper, anti-tank missiles were launched toward “Mount Dov” (occupied Chebaa Farms) and “Hermon”, following a substantial barrage of approximately 30 rocket shells directed at al-Jalil.
Earlier on Tuesday, the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc in Lebanon, Member of Parliament Mohammad Raad, affirmed that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has not yet utilized all of its weapons, stating that “the weapons of the great war have not yet been unleashed.”
Raad explained that the Resistance adheres to “precise equations of deterrence imposed on the Israeli occupation, which attempts to evade the requirements of the status quo but cannot annul them.”
“When you are strong in facing the Israeli enemy and have the means to demonstrate this capability, the other side will surrender, not the other way around,” Raad highlighted. He said that “Israel” is not expanding the war into Lebanon because it is being forced to do so by the Resistance, which has underlined clear responses to breaches in the rules of engagement.
