The Palestine Foundation and the National Digital Journalists Club organized a seminar titled “Gaza, a Holistic Perspective” in Islamabad, rallying over 120 journalists.

Following the seminar, a joint resolution was passed, and it was addressed to the government of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and international organizations.

It condemned the prolonged Israeli aggression on Gaza spanning over 175 days and underscored that despite a ceasefire resolution endorsed by the United Nations Security Council regarding Gaza, “Israel” continues its brutal aggression on Gaza.

The statement went on to say that Israeli actions continue with the tacit support of powerful nations, particularly the United States, which has emboldened global imperialism to endorse the killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Notably, the responsibility for “Israel’s” perceived war crimes is shared among nations, including America, Britain, Germany, and France, as per the statement.

Furthermore, the statement urged the government of Pakistan to extend comprehensive diplomatic, moral, and practical backing to the people of Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli genocide.

Pakistani journalists and writers call for diplomatic confrontation with ‘Israel’

Advocates also argued that Pakistan, as the sole nuclear Muslim state, holds a responsibility toward Gaza and should take a leading role in engaging directly with the leadership of the Resistance, as per the statement.

Calls for diplomatic confrontation with “Israel” on all fronts have also been voiced.

The statement noted that journalists and writers in Pakistan express admiration for the Resistance movements in the Middle East opposing “Israel”, lauding their successes in countering perceived expansionist agendas such as “Greater Israel”.

Additionally, attention has been drawn to the significant impact of the naval blockade imposed by Yemen in response to Israeli aggression on Gaza, as per the statement.

The statement further drew comparisons to the naval military alliance formed by Britain and America to aid “Israel”, prompting questions as to why Muslim countries haven’t united in a similar military alliance to support Palestine.

It also called on governments to heed the voices of their citizens who demand actions like arms embargoes against “Israel” and diplomatic and economic boycotts, fulfilling the demands of humanity.

Meanwhile, strong condemnation has been voiced regarding troubling incidents transpiring in Pakistan, including the reported theft of Palestinian flags, in addition to instances of police violence against gatherings, camps, and protests in solidarity with Gaza. Such incidents are exacerbating the divide between the population and the government, emphasized the statement.

The statement also mentioned that over 140 journalists have been killed while covering the Israeli aggression on Gaza, paying tribute to these journalists and urging the global community to prioritize the safety of journalists in war zones, while also advocating for strong legal measures against “Israel” for this apparent violation of international law.

It also urged the Pakistani government to formally recognize International Quds Day, observed on the last Friday of Ramadan, issuing a plea to all political and religious factions to organize impactful demonstrations nationwide in solidarity with Palestine on this significant day.

In its conclusion, seminar participants extended their admiration for the resilience, bravery, and heroism demonstrated by the people of Gaza.

This comes as Israeli occupation forces pursue their genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, for the 175th day in a row, via airstrikes, artillery shelling, and fire belts, while committing bloody massacres against civilians.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced earlier today that the Israeli occupation committed 7 massacres in the Strip in 24 hours only, killing 71 and injuring 112. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed since the Israeli aggression on Gaza started on October 7 to 32,623, in addition to 75,092 injuries.
