US lost trust in Netanyahu’s ability to handle Rafah attack: Ynet

US President Joe Biden’s administration recognizes that Benjamin Netanyahu is managerially handcuffed and refuses to do what he is told, the Israeli Ynet website reported. 

The Israeli newspaper also relayed that Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant was subjected to “harsh criticism” regarding the occupation during meetings with American officials in Washington. 

Reportedly, Washington has lost trust in Netanyahu’s ability to manage the “complex operation” in Rafah, which begins with evacuating over a million Palestinian refugees.

The newspaper noted that “Israel”, which “fails to allow the entry of 50 aid trucks into north Gaza, would not be able to evacuate over a million people.”

Previously, US Vice President Kamala Harris stated that Biden’s patience was rapidly running out because of Netanyahu’s actions and those of extremists within his government, noting that “there would be severe consequences if an extensive military operation is carried out in Rafah”.

Earlier, US officials told NBC that Biden has been increasingly pressing “Israel” to allow more aid entries into the Gaza Strip and subdue its attacks, but has not addressed halting weapon shipments to the occupation. 

An internal US State Department document, revealed by the US radio network NPR, showed that the Biden administration is concerned that “Israel” is making a “major strategic mistake” in the Gaza war.

This comes at a time when Israeli media expressed “fear of the confrontations Netanyahu is waging with senior American officials,” amid concerns that Washington would reduce security and military aid, which puts “Israel” at risk.

Biden-Netanyahu dispute ‘theatrical’

Mohammad al-Hindi, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, told Al Mayadeen that the United States and the Israeli occupation entity are allies, with their disagreements being tactical rather than strategic.

He emphasized that their relationship is broader and more strategic than the relationship between Biden and Netanyahu.

Regarding the recent public disputes between the US and “Israel”, he described them as “theatrical”, adding that they ultimately benefit Netanyahu, who is trying to portray himself as the only one standing in the face of Biden’s administration. Al-Hindi explained that the decisions of international institutions are implemented when they serve US interests, and currently, Washington is not inclined to activate them.

On Washington’s role in the war on Gaza, al-Hindi said that the “US is providing the coverup to ensure that the war continues, the Resistance in Palestine is uprooted, and the Resistance movements in the region are weakened.”
