The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its daily report today that the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza due to the Israeli genocide since October 7 has now reached 33,970, with 76,770 injured.

Additionally, it declared that the Israeli occupation committed seven massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, killing 71 and injuring 106 in 24 hours only.

The Ministry stressed that thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the streets, as the IOF deliberately prevents ambulances and civil defense crews from reaching them.

Healthcare crisis in Gaza

In a related context, the healthcare system is facing dire challenges, leaving over 730,000 people without adequate access to essential medical services in Gaza. Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, sheds light on this alarming situation, attributing the crisis to the deliberate destruction inflicted upon the healthcare infrastructure by the Israeli occupation.

He reported that the destruction of the al-Shifa Medical Complex was a severe blow to the healthcare system in Gaza, calling for the provision of field hospitals and international multidisciplinary medical teams for the Gaza Strip and northern Gaza.

Al-Qudra further stated that Gaza needs surgical field hospitals with a capacity of 200 beds, including operating rooms, intensive care units, and laboratory and diagnostic services, to meet the needs of the population in the Gaza Strip and northern Gaza.

He pointed out that “Israel” deliberately committed brutal massacres and carried out direct executions of medical staff and patients within the al-Shifa Medical Complex and hospitals in northern Gaza.

Al-Qudra added that the healthcare system in Gaza reels from a devastating blow in the wake of the loss of specialized medical personnel. These skilled professionals, vital to the functioning of medical services, performed critical tasks such as tumor sample testing and kidney transplants, as per al-Qudra.

He further added that the absence of skilled medical staff not only diminishes the capacity to provide essential medical care but also underscores the broader impact of the region’s ongoing turmoil on its healthcare infrastructure.

IOF continue intense attacks on Gaza

On the 195th day of aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation continued its intense attacks, targeting every aspect of life within the Strip, with a particular focus on Gaza City this morning.

According to reports, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the southern, southwestern, and eastern areas of the Gaza City. The bombardment, which killed and wounded many Palestinian civilians, affected the areas of Sheikh Ajlin, Tal al-Hawa, and the al-Zaytoun neighborhood.

Using military aircraft, the occupation targeted homes in Tal al-Hawa and the al-Shati camp in Gaza City. Additionally, Israeli warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Shaat family in the Yabna camp in the city of Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Civil defense crews recovered dozens of martyrs after the occupation forces withdrew from northern Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip. Despite their efforts, several martyrs are still believed to be trapped under the rubble. The crews also retrieved the bodies of 11 martyrs from various locations in the city of Khan Younis, situated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
