IOF displaces Palestinian family after razing home in W. Bank town

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) displaced a Palestinian family after demolishing its home in the town of Tarqumiyah, northwest of al-Khalil in the southern West Bank.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces with bulldozers stormed the Shaab al‑Bir area of the town and demolished a two‑story house belonging to Amir al-Jaafira after its contents were removed.

The demolition measure displaced 10 members of the al‑Jaafra family, leaving them without shelter.

The demolition follows earlier similar measures. On December 22, 2025, the Israeli army issued notices to demolish six multi‑story homes in the same area, belonging to several citizens.

These homes are located only a few kilometers from the illegal settlements of Telem and Adora. Palestinian residents say they are facing mounting pressures aimed at forcing them to leave the area to pave the way for settlement expansion.

Tarqumiyah residents have appealed to international human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to stop these Israeli practices, affirming that Israeli forces and settlers work hand in hand to force them off their lands and homes.

In another incident, Israeli bulldozers on Monday destroyed water pipelines east of Tammun, south of Tubas in the West Bank.

Local official Moataz Bisharat said that a military bulldozer escorted by Israeli forces stormed the Bir al‑Miyar area east of Tammun and destroyed water pipelines.

He added that the Israeli army continues to level lands in the area to construct a 22‑kilometer settler road stretching from the Ein Shibli checkpoint east of Nablus to the Tayasir military checkpoint east of Tubas, passing through the village of Atuf.
