Israeli army violates ceasefire in Lebanon with strikes and demolitions

BEIRUT, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army carried out new ceasefire violations in southern Lebanon on Monday, launching artillery and air strikes and demolishing homes, while maintaining its presence in the areas it has invaded under what it terms the “yellow line.”

The Israeli army has also warned residents of southern Lebanese villages not to return to their homes, as its forces continue to occupy the invaded areas and systematically destroy buildings and infrastructure.

According to the army spokesperson, nearly 60 villages south of the Litani River have been designated off-limits.

The army has also ordered displaced persons not to approach the Litani River or the surrounding areas.

According to Lebanese media sources, Israeli forces plant large numbers of explosives across various locations and detonate them simultaneously, in an effort to permanently prevent residents from returning.

Meanwhile the Israeli army carried out aerial and artillery attacks on homes and sites in separate areas of southern Lebanon last night and Monday morning.

For its part, Hezbollah announced the destruction of four Israeli “Merkava” tanks in two separate operations on Sunday evening, adding that flames engulfed the tanks before Israeli forces removed them from the scene at 6:00 p.m. local time.
