Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad described the course of negotiations over the Gaza Strip as long and complex, particularly given what he called dealing with a “criminal and fascist state committing genocide.”
In statements to Al Jazeera Mubasher, Hamad said Israel is pursuing a policy of killing, aggression, and criminality, ignoring international efforts and mediation aimed at stabilizing Gaza. He accused Israel of deliberately violating the ceasefire and undermining chances of reaching a final agreement.
He noted that “not a single day has passed since the ceasefire began without Israeli violations,” while stressing that Hamas remains committed to continuing negotiations and maintaining daily contact with mediators.
Hamad also said Hamas is ready to enter second-phase negotiations, emphasizing the need for Israel to implement the terms of the first phase of the agreement.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue to breach the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10 through airstrikes, gunfire, and home demolitions in Gaza, resulting in the killing of 837 people and the injury of 2,381 others.
