Palestinians injured, property damaged in W. Bank settler attacks

Hordes of extremist Jewish settlers launched attacks in different areas of the West Bank yesterday and on Sunday morning, injuring a number of Palestinian citizens and damaging property.

According to media sources, five Palestinians were injured on Sunday morning after settlers launched a violent attack on the village of Marah Rabah, south of Bethlehem.

Local sources reported that a group of settlers stormed the village, breaking into the homes, savagely beating residents and attacking them with pepper spray, injuring at least five citizens.

The settlers also vandalized property, stole several cellphones from residents, smashed others to prevent recording their assaults, and seized a car key before withdrawing from the village.

In Ramallah, the head of the Ras Karkar village council, Marwan Nofal, sustained moderate injuries after two settlers attacked him with rifle butts under military protection at the entrance of the village on Saturday evening.

In eastern Ramallah, settlers stormed the Abu Fazaa al-Kaabneh community, releasing a herd of camels into cultivated fields, causing damage to crops, according to the al‑Baidar Human Rights Organization.

Another group of settlers also raided the Wadi Abu al‑Hayat community northwest of Jericho, breaking into and ransacking several Palestinian homes.

In southern al-Khalil, armed settlers assaulted residents of the Wadi al‑Rakhim community west of Susya village, and grazed their livestock in wheat and barley fields, causing extensive damage to crops.

Local sources in Wadi al-Rakhim said that one farmer sustained injuries in the settler attack.

In al‑Khader, south of Bethlehem, settlers escorted by soldiers stole a horse belonging to Murad Issa after assaulting him while he was plowing his swath of land in the Wadi al‑Ghawit area.

In other incidents, a horde of settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles near the Shilo settlement between Ramallah and Nablus, while others set fire to a Palestinian car and scrawled hostile graffiti in the Safa area of Beit Ummar town in northern al-Khalil.

In addition, local sources in al-Khalil City reported that settlers stormed a Palestinian house in the Wadi al‑Husain area, without providing further details.
