PCHR condemns Israeli destruction of Gaza’s remaining homes

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) has condemned, in the strongest terms, the Israeli destruction of the remaining homes in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

In a press release on Wednesday, PCHR described Israel’s targeting of what remained of Gaza homes as a “new episode in its policy of systematic destruction of civilian property and its efforts to deprive residents of any survival means.”

“Over the course of 31 months of its ongoing military assault on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces have destroyed more than 80 percent of the homes in the territory.”

“This devastation has forced hundreds of thousands to seek refuge in shelter centers, live in tattered tents, or remain beside the rubble of destroyed homes. Many are also staying in severely damaged buildings at risk of collapse, with no safe housing alternatives available,” PCHR explained.

“The renewed, intensified strikes by Israeli forces on homes that were partially damaged or others that were repaired by residents with improvised means signal a deliberate bid to complete the destruction of Gaza’s housing environment and to impose a catastrophic living reality that pushes people into further displacement and suffering,” PCHR said.
