The Hamas Movement expressed strong condemnation of remarks made by US Vice President J.D. Vance, in which he said that the aid supplies entering the Gaza Strip are the highest in the past five years, describing the comments as “misleading and far from reality.”
In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the Movement said that conditions in Gaza contradict these claims, citing the ongoing “engineered starvation” policies that are worsening the humanitarian crisis daily.
Hamas added that Israeli authorities have not adhered to the terms of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, instead keeping Gaza’s population in a state of continuous strain through the blockade and restrictions on the adequate flow of aid.
The statement noted that the Gaza Strip is facing a severe shortage of basic supplies, including food, medicine, and fuel, according to reports from human rights organizations and international agencies, alongside continued attacks on infrastructure.
The Movement called on mediators and the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take immediate action and exert real pressure on Israel to halt the starvation policies and to ensure the unimpeded delivery of aid.
It also called for holding Israeli leaders accountable for “the serious crimes and violations,” emphasizing the need to bring them to international justice.
