The Hamas Movement has appealed to the international community, the UN, and all concerned parties to act swiftly to stop the ongoing daily killings and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army and Jewish settlers against the Palestinian people in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
In a statement released on Thursday, Hamas called for urgent measures to provide the Palestinian people with protection against the looming threat of extermination and displacement.
“The Zionist occupation army persists in its crimes against our people in the Gaza Strip, most recently its bombing of a civilian car this afternoon in al‑Maghazi refugee camp, which led to the killing of three people,” Hamas said.
Hamas also pointed to the horrific massacre last night in northern Gaza, which killed five civilians, including three children, warning that Israel’s criminal escalation in Gaza would undermine efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement.
“The international community’s unjustified silence and passivity towards these crimes and violations against our people has emboldened war criminal Netanyahu and members of his extremist government to persist without restraint,” the Movement affirmed.
It stressed the need for the UN to uphold its legal and moral obligations in this regard, including its duty to protect civilians and safeguard the principles of international humanitarian law.
