A Palestinian teenager was martyred on Thursday after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during a raid in Nablus City.
According to eyewitnesses, as IOF vehicles withdrawing from the western side of Nablus, specifically in the Beit Wazan area, they opened fire directly at the boy while he was near a road, critically injuring him in the upper part of his body.
The boy, identified as 15-year-old Yousef Shtayyeh, was immediately rushed to one of the city’s hospitals, where doctors attempted to save his life, but he was later pronounced dead from his injury.
In a related context, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said that a total of 1,819 Israeli attacks and violations happened during last March, including 1,322 by soldiers and 497 by settlers.
16 civilians have been killed by settlers’ gunfire in the West Bank since the beginning of this year, the youngest a 13‑year‑old child and the oldest 60 years old, according to the Palestinian health ministry in Ramallah.
In separate incidents, the IOF stormed other areas of the West Bank today and carried out demolitions.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces bulldozed an agricultural structure in the village of al-Walaja under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
In the northern Jordan Valley, Israeli army bulldozers destroyed agricultural water lines in the village of Atuf, southeast of Tubas, cutting off water to hundreds of dunums of land.
The Israeli army started bulldozing operations in the areas of Atuf and al-Baqi’ah more than two months ago, cutting off water supplies to about 12,000 dunums of land, as a prelude to building a military road and a separation wall.
In al-Khalil, the IOF delivered stop-work orders against seven homes and one sheep pen belonging to Palestinian citizens in the al-Dairat area east of Yatta.
