Al-Quds International Institution has warned that the Aqsa Mosque today stands at a dangerous juncture, facing direct Israeli steps to erase its Islamic identity and architecture, alongside persistent efforts to end the historic Jordanian role in overseeing the holy sites.

Such warnings come as the Israeli occupation authority and its security apparatuses have tightened their grip over the Mosque’s affairs, systematically advancing measures designed to fundamentally change the long-standing status quo.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Al-Quds International accused the Israeli occupation regime of taking gradual Judaization steps inside the Aqsa Mosque recently, saying it allowed settlers to sing, dance and perform mass rituals, closed the Mosque for 40 days, and made attempts to defile its courtyards on Fridays.

“The Israeli occupation authority continues to monitor reactions and evaluate the potential consequences of its steps before moving forward with its comprehensive plan,” Al-Quds International warned.

Al-Quds International added that the occupation regime took other grave steps to undermine the authority of the Islamic Awqaf Administration over the Aqsa Mosque, by canceling permits for 30 administrative employees and dozens of teachers in its schools, banning all restoration and maintenance works at the holy site, even simple tasks like cutting grass, seizing full control over opening and closing the Mosque’s gates, and closing two of its gates to Muslim worshipers.

Al-Quds International stressed the need for the Muslim Ummah to take urgent action to curb the Israeli occupation and protect the Aqsa Mosque.
